I have been involved in the water damage industry for nearly 20 years, decontaminating, cleaning, drying fire and water damaged buildings and contents. In more recent years, I have been adding to these skills, learning how to measure levels of contamination and focusing on indoor air quality and planning indoor air quality outcomes in contaminated properties.
As part of my training I decided to travel to Denmark this year to a company by the name of Mycometer, where I undertook two days training in air sampling and surface sampling of mould and bacteria contamination.
My instructor was Dr. Morten Reeslev, a microbiologist and mycologist, who is one of the founders of Mycometer.
The course was followed by three short exams or tests which were intended to demonstrate correct use of the sampling techniques and data interpretation and in particular, the use of the Mycometer mould and bacteria detection systems. I am pleased that I obtained 3 passes and have Mycometer certification for the use of their system.
I am grateful to Morten Reeslev and his staff for making me feel so welcome at Mycometer and for the quality of the training I received.
