IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician Training Course

This is a course which, while it can be attended as a stand-alone class, is intended as an alternative extension of the IICRC WRT (Water Damage Remediation Technician) program. The IICRC ASD (Applied Structural Drying) is the other extension of IICRC WRT.
The AMRT course is 4 days in length. It covers the nature of the hazards of biological contamination of water damaged buildings (mould and bacteria) and the appropriate measures of remediation. Topics covered include:
- Environmental microbiology
- Mould
- Bacteria
- Moisture effects on buildings
- Remediation standards and relevant Health & Safety regulations
- Mould
- Sewage
- Trauma scene
- Use of anti-microbials
- Containment methods and avoidance of cross-contamination
- Insurance issues
There is an optional two hour exam at the end of this course providing the student an internationally recognised certification from the IICRC. However, students wishing to take this exam must have attended an IICRC WRT (Water Damage Remediation Technician) course and have passed the WRT exam.
